NC Gas Prices October 13, 2008

Here’s a good question from my friend MTB:Why are the prices in and around Raleign-Durham NC so high when compared to our neighbors ?

Regionally, some of this is due to gas taxes. $0.16-$0.17 for our neighbors to north and south, $0.26 here. But Oklahomans pay almost a dollar less per gallon as we do, and their tax is similar to VA and SC.
I just don’t like it! I wish big, bad ol’ go’ment would step in on this one!
